Theme 1 – (Bringing African Markets closer together by deepening economic integration)
The second theme focuses on the promoting of industrial development through diversification and regional value chain development, agricultural development and food security (Ref-1).
The African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA) is not only an AU Agenda 2063 flagship project in its own right, but also contributes to other AU Agenda 2063 flagship projects.
The future of Africa can either be progressive, remain stagnant or at worst regressive but since Africa is not one country, it is more likely to be a hybrid of these forecasts. However if the AU could have its way, Africa will be progressive.
The first aspiration of Agenda 2063 on the journey to creating the Africa we want is to deliver a prosperous Africa based on inclusive growth and sustainable development
